The bedroom is the living space where many people spend most of their time while in their residences. People with disabilities may face some difficulties in the maneuvers, perform daily activities, and / or furniture access. There are many strategies, adaptations and technologies that can help an individual in the bedroom. Bedrooms should be designed for comfort, accessibility and functionality.
Some people with disabilities require turning from side to side every 2 to 4 hours as a preventive measure decubitus ulcers (pressure ulcers) care. Others may need to sleep in a semi-”sitting” for other reasons such as bronchial problems.
Although significant or complete reduction in assistant care may not always be possible, greater independence and flexibility can be achieved through the use of adjustable beds motorized hospital beds. This technology can also be beneficial to the personal assistant. There are some differences between adjustable beds and hospital beds.
Hospital beds can usually pay for insurance and these purchases are usually processed with little difficulty. The choice of size is limited and is seen as a hospital bed. Without however, hospital beds have a feature typically not found in adjustable beds without significantly affecting prices. The entire bed can raise and lower for to accommodate preferences for transfers and care assistant.
An adjustable bed looks and feels like a regular bed and comes in several common sizes, double, ie, full, queen, etc. In addition, head and feet can go up or down to individual comfort levels. Furthermore, after back surgery, some patients feel that an adjustable bed is more comfortable than a flat mattress. Like more options when it’s mattresses, this is largely a matter of personal preference.
In general, it is reasonable for a patient to consider the option of an adjustable bed if he or she feels better sitting in a reclining chair with the knees supported or slightly elevated and if he or she is having trouble getting a good rest in a conventional flat mattress. If a patient is not sure whether you would benefit from an adjustable bed, or are not sure of buying a new bed, then it is also possible use pillows to support the upper body (being careful to provide support for lower back) and placing a pillow under your knees.

I just purchased a Sealy mattress Postrepedic and wondered if it was normal to have back pain?
I bought a mattress from Sealy Posturepedic Ultraplush a warehouse a few weeks ago. It’s a very nice and very soft mattress but my back hurts when I wake up. My pillows are slightly firmer, so sometimes I fall asleep no pillows and that helps a little bit. I can not take back the mattress because it was refundable or nonexchangeable and I have a very good deal, like 40% discount. Mattress still looks good, but is it normal? Any suggestions? Thanks!
I had the same problem with my very nice, a mattress too expensive. The pain was mostly around my neck and shoulders. A small firm pillow rolled under my neck helped. Soon, my body used to it, and pains are much less.
